Hyde & Beast

Hyde & Beast are Dave Hyde (The Futureheads) and Neil Bassett (The Golden Virgins).

The two drummers aren’t quite sure how they recorded an album, but they managed to produce, record and mix it all themselves.

David Brewis of Field Music and solo artist Lucas Renney provided some beautiful bass and guitar parts on two of the songs. The result is the joyfully acclaimed debut album ‘Slow Down’ which was released on Tail Feather Records in August 2011, which NME called “sublimely tender…8/10”.

When playing live, Hyde & Beast become a six-person entity with some very familiar faces from the north east music scene, and they have just completed their first UK headline tour.
